Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire is an affluent area in Scotland, on the northwestern fringe of Greater Glasgow. The town is located 6 miles from Glasgow City Centre.
Its housing development coincided with the 1863 introduction of a railway line. The town was named after Bearsden railway station, which was named after a nearby cottage!
The Placeity powered website – Bearsden.org.uk – is operated and managed by the Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, who instigated the development of a localised version of the Scotland Loves Local campaign.
The project has been funded through a successful application to The Towns and Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) Resilience and Recovery Fund, along with other towns in East and West Dunbartonshire.
